“Love yourself first”i

If you’re like me (50m), this phrase probably makes you sick. It’s meaningless and easy to say.

But I don’t feel this way anymore. And for anyone still wondering, this is what it really means:

• You don’t give one single F if your hobby isn’t cool or makes money. Whatever makes you nerd out, dive as deep into it as you can and apologize to no one.

• You trust your gut and take action. You don’t wait around wondering if you’re reading the situation correctly. You listen to that inner child and say “I hear you, let’s gtf out of here.”

• You are so affirmed in your belief that you have the right to exist just as much as Jeff Bezos or the King of Monaco that you are literally more curious about what you’ll have for breakfast tomorrow than how much money/influence so-and-so has.

• You see others’ success and think “hell yes, keep going!” because you’re also super invested in your own path and it feels good to support each other in this pin prick of a world.
