Fine Espresso Choking Machine

Does anyone here use a Baratza Encore ESP with their GCP? I just got both this week and I'm not able to pull a decent shot with any grind setting lower than 20, which is the highest number in their espresso range. I've seen people say they can go to much finer settings and pull a shot. Tips?
