Some observations/questions from s3e5
-
Lottie’s dad referenced some incident (possibly someone else being pushed down the stairs, given that that’s what Misty was specifically talking about) being called an “accident” in exchange for money. I wonder if Lottie did something when she got home that Mr. Matthews covered up because he attributed it to her mental illness?
-
When he hugged Shauna, Mr. Matthews was wearing a wedding ring and it seemed like they made a point of ensuring that the camera lingered on it. We know that Lottie’s parents were divorced when she was a kid, so there must have been a stepmom at some point. Is this person still around? They would probably know a lot about Lottie and have access to her stuff when she’s not home…
-
Lottie’s receipt shows a withdrawal of $50,000, which was the amount that Jeff asked for when he was blackmailing. Probably nothing but I just thought that was interesting. Could someone be trying to do some sort of copycat crime? Maybe another Yellowjacket got a blackmail text, and came to Lottie because she is rich? (Bonus points for Lottie if she actually just sent the text herself so she could lure the person to her, knowing they would ask her for money, and then got them to give her her own money back 😂 that would be a MFQ level manipulation)… Or could Lottie have wanted to make it look like she was also blackmailed for some reason (to hide money, get someone in trouble by linking it to the other incident)?
-
A few repetitions in this episode: the phrase “mutually assured destruction”, (s1, Shauna/Callie conversation), the $50,000, Ben saying “you have to look me in the eye” (Natalie, s2).

Was there some whispering audio in the flashback clip where Shauna is remembering Lottie, and Lottie’s face is covered in something (blood? mud?)? It’s a Lottie scene that hasn’t happened yet in the teen timeline. I couldn’t hear it clearly and don’t have the ability to clip it and enhance the audio.
