March 8
7:30am, Lolita, at home with Kitten
We just came back from running with the East Bronx Roadrunners. I love our neighborhood and it is so much more fun running down parks, a river bank, and streets where people live than doing laps around a track.
We are heading to an appointment with our trainer Theo whom we haven’t seen since the summer. He will be helping us train for the half marathon. Coach asked us to volunteer for next Sunday’s NYC Half Marathon. Kitten will have to make her own decision but I *really *want to attend my new district’s March Youth-led Discussion Meeting.
The day belongs to Kitten. I have a lot of schoolwork but I am just going to enjoy the luxury of being with her. Jammy is coming to the house to rehearse for a couple of hours and Ms. Stacey, the student teacher, will be coming, too. Kitten is a bit nervous because she will be playing on either her own electric piano or her synthesizer. Yes, she will be better able to approximate Nelson Riddle’s arrangement but she feels all naked because she hasn’t prepared for it. Pupa and Dad are picking up bagels and such for everyone.
After that we are all heading out to ACS to work with the middle school future girl rockers. Ms. Stacey is very interested in this project and wants to document it for one of her Master’s courses.
It seems that someone anonymously donated $5K so Jammy could purchase more practice instruments and equipment for the girls. Kitten asked me to talk to Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Joseph if they are around. Where can we safely store the stuff? This facility is not really designed for programs such as ours. Maybe they have some ideas for alternative rehearsal places.
But evening will just be the most delicious and precious family time ever. The Bronx is famous for its Italian restaurants and we are going to “Pasta Pasta” in the Morris Park neighborhood. When we get home we will just sit on the couch and watch TV like the old days.
Yes, we are a beautiful blended poly family. Kitten and I keep telling Muma and Mom to break through some boundaries. Once. They just roll their eyes and tell us to shut up.
