The power of the peak.

Wanted to give the sub a nice visual of one of the more dramatic peaks I’ve been able to elicit for my clients and provide some insight into how we set about accomplishing it.

Yes, you read those times right. Same day changes based on prior data, a practiced and repeatable plan, and attentive coaching.

No throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks, no Hail Mary’s in the closing seconds, no voodoo magic.

Water was kept baseline throughout the week and up until two hours pre stage at which point it was reduced to sips simply to reduce risk of needing to use the restroom and or any perceivable bloating to the midsection.

Salt was kept baseline until show day where it saw a slight bump specifically around 45 minutes prior to stage to assist with vascularity.

Macros were kept baseline until Thursday where we initiated a linear backload across 2.5 days consisting of a moderate single day fat load and a stepwise aggressive carb load (something that had been practiced and tested multiple times prior).

Mix in a little pump formula timed right and you’ve got what I would call, and the judges would confirm, the perfectly executed peak for Syl - culminating in a pro card win and his best look to date.

Key points/tldr:

- Kept water in.

- Only minor salt manipulation day of.

- Slight fat load.

- Linear carb load spread across 2.5 days.

- We practiced this approach in weeks leading up to the show. By structuring his refeeds to match what the peak protocol would be in terms of food selection, timing, and loading.
