Is this OK? (M14)

So I (m14) have a crush on my best friend at school (f14) and she has a crush on someone else. To be clear, our being friends is nothing unusual, literally all my friends are female. I have had quite a serious crush on her for maybe half a year now, and would like nothing more than to date her. As she has a crush on someone else, my question is, is it ok to keep on crushing on someone even though they don't like you back? My original plan was to just wait until she tells me she doesn't have a crush on the other guy anymore, (we tell each other everything, except for my feelings for her, obviously) but is that ok? I can't imagine not liking her, she is the most amazing person I've ever met. Should I try to not like her anymore? (Truth is, I really don't want to)
