Experienced Driver but need UK license

I am 25 and have been driving since I was 16 but not in the UK as I am a foreign National and have at least 1000 hours driving experience in my home country but the traffic laws are not as stringent as the UK and not as much abundance of signage. I’ve done my theory test and got a driving test booked which is end of June in a town 40 min away so several questions:

How should I go about getting used to UK roads? I’ve done a couple practice sessions and have identified a few things I could use professional overlook on. Should I look for a driving school or instructor? Are they catering to the fact in case I don’t need as many hours with them as starting from scratch? Would they still be willing to let me use their car for the test if I don’t spend that many hours with them? E.g. can I do a few lessons with them, then practice on friends cars and then come back to them closer to test? And also considering the test centre is far away would they be okay with that? Should I go on testi and try to book a cancellation closer to home and closer in date? Can I just do the test on my friend’s car instead to save the hassle and money?

If you have experience with any of these questions, your help would be highly appreciated, thanks!
