[TOMT][90’s][Movie] Similar to Stand by Me

Movie where a group of young boys take a trip on foot out to a lake. They have recently lost a friend to cancer. There is a part where they visit his grave on the way. There are multiple flashbacks with this friend. There is another part where one of kids gets angry after one of these flashbacks and yells, “Cancer. You’re not fair!” and then tosses a stick or something into the fire. Towards the end, they have a fight and one of the friends gets mad and jumps in the lake, but doesn’t come up. One of the kids jumps in and pulls him out and saves him with CPR. There was also a dynamic of one kid making fun of one of the other kid’s weight.

No clue what it’s called. I remember it seemed pretty low-budget.
