What is everything your Yorkie has?
About two weeks ago, I was gifted a Yorkie puppy and I’ve been accumulating stuff for him ever since.
- Bed.
- Travel Crate.
- Travel Play Pen.
- Pee Pads. I use regular baby wipes for face, pee, and poop wiping. I use them on my own face and they don’t hurt. He seems find with them.
- Four Blankets: 2 small and 2 big.
- Six Toys.
- Shampoo, conditioner, flea/tick shampoo, and post shower deodorizer spray (it also works as a leave-in conditioner). I also add oatmeal in the bath and germanium/peppermint essential oil. I don’t apply it on him because I read that it can’t be applied until after age 1.
- Toothpaste/Toothbrush | Nail Clippers | Double Sided Hair Brush | I do feel like I need a smaller brush for his face. I also have no idea what to do with his ears. Can I clean them with ACV?
- Water/Food Bowl | Two Containers and a spoon just for his food | Food | Treats | Training Treats.
- Collar, harness, and leash.
He doesn’t have any clothing because he’s only 2 months. But, I’m planning on getting him a sweater and jacket. I also really want to get him a carrier backpack, so he can go more places with me. I don’t think I have the balls to get a whole stroller for him, but the idea is so cool.
Is this enough? Do I need other things? I’m poor. So many times I have come across the same comment. “If you can’t afford a pet, don’t get one.” That comment makes people like me feel like total crap. I feel like I don’t deserve to have the pleasure of owning a pet just because I’m poor. I feel like these people automatically think you are a bad pet owner because you’re poor. I know that their heart is in the place. Children and pets need to be protected. But, it’s such a classist comment to make. I hate how judgmental people get about pets. I just want to be the best mom that I can be, within the confines of my life. I don’t think I can pay for pet insurance, but I’m sure as hell gonna take him to the vet. I have taken him to the vet. That’s the one thing I know I don’t have.
What do you all have? I would love to hear your list.
