[Question] Best quartz dive watch under 400€
Been on the hunt for a solid non-automatic dive watch (~40mm) that I can rock as a daily.
- Must be at least 100m WR – wanna take it to the beach, shower, and not baby it.
- No automatic movements – in this price range, they tend to lose accuracy pretty quick, and I don’t want to deal with service costs for a relatively affordable watch.
- Bonus points for date (kanji date would be sick), and a chronograph would be cool but not a must.
- Black and simple design preferred.
- Prefer microbrands over mainstream picks.
- Not a fan of Orient, Citizen, Glycine or Tsuyosa, so looking for alternatives.
I was eyeing the Seiko SBSA225 (JDM SRPD55) – love the kanji date and would pay extra for it. Only thing holding me back is the auto movement. A friend’s SRPD is already losing 2-4 mins/day after 3-4 years, and that’s kinda a dealbreaker for me.
Any recommendations?
