Should I (F25) fly from London to Nashville to fight for the love of my life (M35)?.
I was in a long-distance relationship (London to Nashville) with the best man I’ve known. He constantly reassured me of his love, did affirmations when I felt insecure, and we openly worked through issues. We seriously talked about marriage and children, and falling in love was effortless.
A month ago, I broke up with him when he said he couldn’t afford for me to visit for six months; I regretted it the next morning, offered to cover all my expenses every visit, but he emotionally withdrew, and things never fully recovered.
We finally got back on track until he wouldn’t finalise when when I could book my flight?! He then reluctantly broke up with me, because “he wasn’t getting his physical needs met and we were disconnected.”
Since then, he’s been ghosting me on and off but is conflicted when we talk, refusing to give a final answer. When I ask to see him, he just says, “I can’t stop you.” Is he just being stubborn and avoidant? Should I just cover everything and fly to him to fight for our love?
