10k budget + 10k for improvement/repairs +1k yearly for maintenance

I like cars, I want a reliable BMW, regardless of the year, I want to take care of it on my own. I have no experience in anything car related, but I have what it takes to be able to take care of it. I know it’s different, but I have the will and experience working with building gaming PCs, which is also not so easy but also requires understanding tech. The difference would be that there is more precision needed for maintaining a car and more dedication, more space, time, and it’s also a lot more dangerous etc. What would be your ideal car? Do you have your own car project?
