"Farewell Gone Wrong!"

Story Time :bonfire:

My farewell was the best farewell one could ever have! We were all dressed in our school white uniform, looking like disciplined angels (or prisoners, depending on how you see it). They took ₹200 from us, and in return, we were blessed with a lavish menu—one chamcham, a mini kachori, and an unidentified sweet stuffed in a mini mithai ka dabba, along with a tiny cup of coffee. Money well spent, right?

Now, because discipline is life, boys and girls had separate entrances, separate seating, and probably even separate oxygen supply. The farewell lasted for two hours, out of which:

1 hour was purely the principal and chairman’s speeches (which felt like a TED Talk marathon).

30 minutes were spent maintaining discipline (because we were obviously getting out of control by sitting quietly).

And in the remaining 30 minutes, we speed-ran our mini mithai ka dabba while a guy from our class dared to perform stand-up comedy—only to get scolded for it.

Now, for the most awaited part—the farewell gift. We were handed a set of two blue pens and one cello tape. Yes, cello tape. Maybe the pens were for our bright future, and the tape… probably to keep our mouths shut forever.

And the ultimate irony? When we entered this school, we were welcomed with a tikka on our foreheads. And now, at our farewell, we were given cello tape. Poetic justice.

Oh, and just to make this extravaganza even more thrilling—phones were not allowed. Because why would we ever want to capture such an iconic event?

Truly, a farewell we’ll never forget. (Even if we try.)
