Which one

I want to buy a new device i will use it for studying, taking notes and watching videos but I want something that I can use it now (when I'm in med school) and in the future (if I want to get a phd or masters degree) so I don't know what is the best at this condition a tablet (samsung tab s10+) or a laptop (any suggestions is appreciated) I have 1000usd budget
