Do europeans wear full beards?
I'm planning to spend a year at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), near the France-Switzerland border, for work related to my PhD. However, there's one concern on my mind. I prefer to wear a full beard, but I worry that it might cause issues, especially at airports or in everyday interactions.
As a Latin American, there's always some level of concern about being stopped or facing extra scrutiny, particularly for those of us with olive skin (whether light or dark). With the rise of anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim sentiment in some parts of Europe, I wonder if having a full beard could make me stand out in a negative way. I worry that having a full beard might make me more likely to experience prejudice.
That said, I know that many Europeans also have olive skin and that beards are common in some places. So, my question is: Is it typical for European men to wear full beards? Would I blend in, or is there a chance that a beard might draw unwanted attention?
