3-2 nap transition and sleep debt
So my 7 month old has maxed out her 3 nap schedule and has accumulated some sleep debt. I think this has honestly been going on since the 4-3 transition and it’s snowballed to multiple false starts and 1-3 hourly waking.
After reading a lot of advice on this sub, I decided to put her on the 2 nap schedule but reduce her wake time to clear some of the sleep debt and give her 2 LONG assisted naps to ensure she gets the sleep.
Schedule 2.5/3-3.25/3.5. Am wake 7am bed 730pm. Goes to bed in her crib wide awake, feeding is 30 mins before, but I still sit beside the crib (later stage chair method ish)
Over the last 3 days she has actually gotten 13.5 hours of sleep in 24h consistently. 3h day, 10.5 night. Still false starting and waking every 2-3 hours. But she was getting sleep.
Last night she false started and then was up for an hour!!! And then every 2 hours after that. Had an EMW of 5am and dad held her to sleep from 6-7am. 12 hrs sleep in 24hrs yesterday with the 3 daytime hours
I am at a loss and I don’t know what to do.
I can’t tell if she’s still overtired (multiple motn wakes and false starts) or under tired now due to less awake time.
I was considering doing 2 naps with shorter ww and early bedtime to compensate for all the awake time, OR moving back to 3 naps for 2.5/2.5/2.5/2.5
I feel insane like I post here every day lol.
