Ultrasound results

I had an 11.5 year old lab who stopped eating my vet ordered an ultrasound , but she didn't call me with the results until after I went to there office and spoke to the office manager after he passed away? I'm very sad about losing my pet with absolutely no help from his regular vet in his final hours. I want to be fair but don't understand how this happened
