Incel forums are a mischaracterization of men who struggle in dating

Sex / Gender / Dating

I realize some involuntary celibates can be violent and believe crazy ideas, but it's not the vast majority. There was a study by the Institute of Family Studies Sexless America: Young Adults Are Having Less Sex | Institute for Family Studies showing 11% of men 22-34 never had sex. If there are 2 million males in each age year category, then that translates to 26 million*11% = Roughly 3 million male virgins post college-age. Now, it's a study that can't sample the entire population, but others have shown similar results AND this doesn't factor into how many men who aren't virgins paid for it with an escort or worker.

Compare this to the largest incel forum ending with .is (or .me whatever), there are 30,000 members internationally, so I'd estimate 10,000 in the U.S. Even factoring in frequent posters on 4chan's /r9k/ and the now-banned subs here, brings the online incel community in the U.S. to around 100,000 at most.

I'd say lots of men who cannot get dates may have conditions like Asperger's, but it's usually overlapping with poor looks or financial status. People on the spectrum who are attractive and have good jobs rarely struggle.
