Alternative to Portal's Storytime app for reading with littles on a device?

My son (3) really likes me reading the Story Time stories to him on our Portal. Unfortunately, Meta has deprecated Portal entirely and is removing the app in April.

Does anyone have any suggestions for interactive reading with a child on an iPad app or website?

What was great about Portal's app is that it would use its camera to put the reader into the story, but I'd take something that doesn't do that. Also, at this point I'd prefer to still read myself rather than the app read aloud.

Thanks for any suggestions.
