Although everyone makes fun of Jean being useless in X-Men the animated series she’s pretty useful in the episode ’Captive Hearts’

When she and Cyclops fight the morlocks she saves 2 people from a train and after she’s captured she frees herself, knocks down some morlocks and sends a message to Professor X which allows for she and Cyclops to be rescued. After Storm, Rogue, Gambit and Wolverine arrive Jean later takes down some more morlocks including their brute and the mind controlling one and she even harms Wolverine when he’s being mind controlled. Not bad for someone who has a video dedicated to her uselessness.
