Stationary torch attacks?

I dont now if its because of the moros aspect but my normal and omega attacks just stay where I shot them instead of going towards enemies. I dont think this is moros's "linger" thing because this is not consistent and only happens sometimes. Would love if you helped me understand what i am missing. I play with logitech controller btw.
