requesting High School letters of rec?

Miscellaneous

Does anyone here know if I would be able to like, email admissions/go in person and ask to be able to see one (or all) of my letters of rec that helped me get in U of M?

(cancer death mention and getting sappy)

I had a really good connection with one of my teachers who wrote a letter for me, but he passed away a couple of years ago very prematurely from cancer. (He was 30.) He helped me get through a lot of terrible stuff in HS and his advice still keeps me going to this day. He didn't let anyone see letters of rec before or after he sent them-- I just wanna be able to hear him again tbh. It's coming up on 3 years since he passed and I'm getting in my feels again.

If I remember right I think someone told me that you can go into the admissions office and view your application documents IRL with an appointment or something? It seemed like a situation where I wouldn't be able to make a copy of something like his letter, though. Has anyone done that before?
