Is winning the power of the Seer bad for your game?

SpoilerSeason 3 - Ep. 11 (Finale)

I’ve been thinking about this since the finale and I feel like there really isn’t a situation where winning the power of the Seer could help you in the game.

Regardless of whether you are traitor or faithful, you have two options if you are the Seer: claim the other person is a faithful or a traitor.

If you claim the other person is a faithful, like Britney did, it doesn’t clear you of being a traitor, so no real information is gained from the other players about you.

If you claim the other person is a traitor, because of the rule that banished players don’t reveal what they were, it makes the most sense for the other players to just banish both the Seer and the person they checked, as Dylan said this episode. So even if you are a faithful as the Seer and successfully catch a traitor, you’ll still likely end up banished since your claim can never be verified.

It just seems to me that, regardless of if you’re a faithful or traitor, you should not want to win the Seer power. If the Seer was instituted before the finale, there would be more of an advantage to it because your claim could be verified, but with the current rules, it seems more like a curse than an advantage. Let me know what you think though.
