How have drugs negatively impacted your life so far?
Drugs are not inherently good nor bad. I think a lot of us on this sub can attribute some of our best, most memorable moments to substances when used with friends or in a positive environment.
Of course, they can be abused and misused to the great detriment of your livelihood and relationships. It is totally possible to use various ( even the "harder") substances throughout your life with minimal, if any effects on your health or life in general. Unfortunately many people, myself included, stray from this possible path and end up in a very dark and painful place as a result of our (mis)use.
From a hard stint of ketamine abuse years ago, I still feel like I have to piss way more often than other people. It feels like my bladder never recovered past 75% or so. Not debilitating but certainly really annoying and inconvenient.
I am scared of what stim binges have done to my heart and reward system. I think my years of weed abuse have definitely wired me to prefer and seek out easy and simple pleasure in life rather than wanting to work for anything long term, not to mention getting into some bad habits of self isolating rather than engaging with the world around me.
The scariest ones to think about then, the money and time I have lost to years of abuse. Years. Think about that , multiple years where I could have spent more time with family or friends, learning and growing, all lost. I worked a lot for a couple of years, overtime was the norm along with weekends. I earned great money, I wasted almost all of it.
Sometimes I struggle to come to terms with all of these things, but knowing I'm not alone and that my life doesnt need to continue like this gives me hope.
