efficient way to read specific pixels on screen and react to based on their colors.

Hey, maybe a ridiculous request however i cant think about an better solution. I'm trying to get my discord voice status so either if im muted or not. Theres no official open api from discords site and i dont want to hook into their app as its against their tos.

So the best solution would be to read some specific pixels from my screen and then return a value based on their color.

I'm not really good at programming howevver i usually get a result after a while, currently using java but i guess i could get it to work with python.

I know its possible, just want to brainstorm a little bit before i get an bad solution, my major concern is performance when i have to take a screenshot every sec.
