Scrivener error opening file.

I'm using Scrivener on Windows 11), Version: 3.1.5.1 (2072309) 64-bit - 05 Jul 2023. When I check for updates, this is the latest version. When I try to open a project from inside the program, I get this error message: "The project you are trying to open was created or saved using a newer version of Scrivener than the one you are currently using." If I double click on the project file in Windows Explorer, then it opens okay. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?
