Funny Story

Yesterday I was asked to look at a PLC by a company I have worked with, but not that particular tech. Agreed to meet onsite, and said I would wait at the guard shack.

Drove in, Security guard came up to me and asked my name etc. and showed me where to park. As I was doing this another white truck drove up. After some radio chatter, the guard told me to follow that truck.

Park, get out with my backpack etc. and great the other driver who while friendly enough does not seem that excited to see me. Anyway I follow him and a somebody from that company. Soon we are joined by two additional company people. Nobody paid me any attention, I must say I was a little sad !

Turns out the other person was not the person I had agreed to meet, but just happened to be doing something on the exact piece of equipment at the exact same time.

In this day an age you can still get in to facilities wearing tons of bright yellow PPW carrying a backpack so long as you look the part.

Used to be a white lab coat and a clipboard and everyone would scatter at the sight of you.
