Indie games that broke expectations and records

Trying to get into more indie games and have recently played and enjoyed Vampire Survivors and Balatro. Both of these are games I would never play under normal circumstances but I saw the reviews and thought why not. Needless to say it has been a blast playing both.

This got me thinking, what other indie games with mass appeal that transcended their normal audiences are there? I’m up for anything.
