How did you build personal support networks for your career?

Hi everyone,

One of my friends recently got a really nice job in the financial sector due to a friend/mentor of hers who helped her every step of the way, and I was wondering how to cultivate something similar for myself.

I'm currently massively underpaid and working a second job to make ends meet, so avoiding burnout is important. Sadly I'm the only person in any of my circles who went into cyber so there aren't a lot of mutual connections, and the people I've reached out to for help have said they're too busy to invest in someone else - which I at least appreciate the honesty on.

How'd you personally grow your support out as a professional?
