Consumer protection

So what happens when my first lawyer quits and then my next lawyer quits 6 months later too.... does one of the partners take my case on? Can they just drop me?! Been just over a year now and haven't gotten anywhere with the case. Was just about to have a pretrial conference and my lawyer no longer works at the firm... what sort of recourse does a consumer have if this is how it goes?! At a loss here
