Please help! First puppy!!

Hello! I have had dogs all my life, but I’ve only had a puppy once and that was as a child (not a primary caretaker). So my question is in 2 parts

(1)I have recently narrowed it down to two dogs: one is a 12 week old German Shepard puppy and the other is a 10 month old black lab. Which one of these breeds is more cat friendly? I have 2. Can puppies be trained to be cat friendly or is more of a breed thing?

(2) what supplies does a puppy need? What do I need to do to prepare for the puppy? How can I help puppy adjust? And how do I puppy proof my house?

Please don’t feel like you have to answer all the questions? ANY advice is helpful!
