Nova 5X Wireless Headset. Voice not being picked up in Party Chat

I’ve just bought the Nova 5X Wireless headset for Xbox. Everything works well apart from I can speak to my friends in party chat, or even game chat. The mic just won’t pick up my voice at all. Is there a setting i’ve missed or how do I fix this?
