Sharing a EP to BF win!
I wanted to share a "win" I just had.
My little guy is 6 weeks old. He was able to latch at the hospital, but I didn't love the way it felt and wasn't that motivated to continue trying to make it work. I started pumping 8x a day and providing bottles.
After some encouragement (and maybe a little shame) from his pediatrician, I met with an LC at around 4 weeks to see if directly breastfeeding was still an option. Again, not entirely motivated, but liked the idea of having it as a skill in our toolbox. (I will say that his latch at 4 weeks vs the hospital was MUCH more comfortable - perhaps pumping "toughened me up".)
At around 5 weeks, I got some major major clogs and found that getting him to latch was the only thing that cleared them. I had finally found some motivation to make it work lol.
Between 4-6 weeks, while I was able to get him to latch, I was never able to keep him latched long enough to replace his usual 4 oz, so at some feedings, we were triple feeding.
Which brings me to my win: I was just able to get him to latch on BOTH breasts and stick around long enough to replace both a bottle and a pumping session.
We will see what happens next, but celebrating for now!
