Is there really no other option?
Sold a new and sealed record to a guy in Puerto Rico. A few days later he messaged me saying it’s scratched and he wants a partial refund. Why would you want a partial if it’s broken? I ignored him. He messages me multiple times a day every day for a week. He opened a return case to which I waited until the last day to accept of my own volition. I called eBay and they said to report him before I accept the return, for “misusing the return policy”. I do so and never hear back. I finally get the item today and it’s damaged, covered in dog hair and crumbs, as well as scratched. The protective bag is nowhere to be found as well; it’s opened. I called eBay and they said there’s nothing that can be done since “I was given a courtesy refund a year ago” (for a case where a guy sent back fake AirPods). He left negative feedback which can’t be removed either (the comment was removed but not the feedback). The customer service person then abruptly ended the call.
Is there anything else I can do about this? When I go to report a problem with the return, it tells me to refund the full amount anyways. This is clearly a scam. Would I have to chargeback the charge or something? The record he returned is worthless and it’s ridiculous that I as a top rated seller, who has been on the platform for 13 years, can do nothing about this obvious scam.
