Flying with firearms an uneventful experience

Flew with a few firearms and ammo the past week again, and it was uneventful. Other than the gate agents not knowing the check in process for them and having to walk them through it. Took maybe 15 extra minutes.

Interesting they added the CAGPT tag to it now, and even gave the little tare off on both legs of my flights. Handy to know it’s been loaded in the hold. Not sure if this is a new process for west jet or if they just missed it in the past, but it’s great.

If you are flying with firearms WestJet is very easy to deal with. The cagpt tag if it is the correct process is nice makes it a little harder to lose the luggage or very least feels that way.(having had other carriers lose my firearms in the past who did not do the tag with the tare off section)
