Question

I have a friend female who is wondering if she might have a lawsuit against her local in virginia pd after they showed up too her house for a domestic. The pd arrested her boyfriend and had a protective order submitted by pd not her request. They then took her fire arm out of the house and have not released it too her in over a month. The firer arm was not involved with the domestic? Any advise would be great thanks
