Out-of-Box-New SSD Fried? F16
Hello all!
First of all, I don't know if this subreddit is the right place for me to get support with my predicamente, or if I should also post this in Framework's community Forums.
After some years of following Framework's progress, and some months after they started shipping to my country (Portugal), I finally decided to get my hands on a Laptop 16, since my older laptop was getting too old and underpowered for the type of work I was using it for.
After around... I'd say a week?, it finally arrived today (March 12th, 2025).
I chose the DIY edition, as I found assembling my own laptop an interesting prospect.
Here's my configuration:

After assembling it and installing Windows 11 on the main WD_BLACK™ SN850X NVMe™- M.2 2280 - 4TB drive, I created a live USB image of Fedora to install on the secondary, WD_BLACK™ SN770M NVMe™ - M.2 2230 - 2TB drive.
Upon completion of the Fedora installation process, I disconnected the USB drive and restarted the computer.
Once I booted into Fedora, I took some time to connect to my home wi-fi network.
Problem arose, however, when I decided to plug my charger to prevent my battery from draining while I was configuring stuff and installing packages.
The moment I plugged the charger on the charging port (shown in orange in the attached images), Fedora froze completely. Keyboard would still respond to input (ie. Caps Lock light would come on and off when pressed), but the OS was completely frozen.
Not knowing what was going on, I decided to press the power button to switch the laptop off. When I did it, Linux's shutdown messages showed numerous errors related to being unable to unmount the drive.
When booting up again, I was redirected straight to windows. I restarted and pressed F12 repeatedly.
On the bootloader, the only available drive was the 4TB main drive. I tried to install Fedora again (at first I thought the drive had somehow been de-formatted), but when I went to select the drive, the 2TB secondary drive was nowhere to be found. I rebooted the PC and confirmed that, indeed, the drive did not show up in the BIOS, under the "Attached Device List".
I had some doubts if this was a mainboard /M.2 slot problem, or straight up an SSD problem, so I disassembled the laptop and placed the secondary SSD on the main slot. To no avail. The BIOS would complain that no Bootable devices were found and the Attached Device List would not show up in the BIOS at all.
Can anyone give me a clue regarding what might be going on, and how I could fix this? Should I get in contact with framework? And, if so, how?
Attached are images of my Double SSD installation, as well and my Expansion Card arrangement and the values shown on the BIOS/Boot Loader.
I appreciate your help, cheers!
