Manager told people I quit when I didn’t show up at my scheduled time that’s weird right

last week a male manager cussed at me I told the general manager other manager apologized twice. I came in late today like 30 or so minutes and like four people came up to me oh my God I thought you quit female manager told us you quit. Is that weird? I’m looking for another job because they yell at me for stupid shit and stuff that obviously they can handle.
