Sports are like tits, everyone like them.
The great Tim Dillon once said, sports are like tits, everyone likes it.
I'm sick of seeing this weird and overly passionate push for people to go to college for "sports business". And when you ask these people why... it's always because they love it!
Yeah no shit, everyone likes watching football, it doesn't mean there is a job in it for you. Same goes for women in fashion school, everyone likes fashion, it's not a real career path. You aren't going to be Tory Birch or Coco Chanel, you are going to be poor.
And before everyone gets upset about my OPINION, remember that colleges are doing everything in their power to convince you that spending exorbitant amounts of money on their school is a good choice. Of course they are going to promise you the world with a sports business degree.
You aren't going to be an agent, or a front-office GM. And if you disagree that's fine, but I'd advise you to look at the data. Less than 5% of MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, or NBA agents and front office teams COMBINED have obtained a college degree, much less a "sports business" degree.
If you're going to spend 80k/year on a degree, maybe do something useful!
