Is it a good idea to buy a 1080p monitor these days?
Hi all, my question stems more from whether it is reasonable to invest in a 1080p monitor or shoot straight to 1440p for a higher price. I currently run a system with a R5 5600 and an RX 7600 and my gaming experience is pretty comfortable, but I am planning on saving up for the next year in order to eventually upgrade to a 9070 XT (I live in South America so you can get a pretty good idea that electronics are way more expensive here).
Thing is, now I'm starting to consider that before upgrading my PC components, maybe it might be a better idea to upgrade my monitor first (currently using a 60Hz 1080p). My 7600 handles 1080p without a problem, but if eventually I do decide to go for a better card, would it make more sense to go for 1440?
My main concern is that 200 USD or more is a serious investment for me, and most 1440p monitors I'm seeing go for 300 USD and higher. I don't want that money to go to waste if 1080p seems like a bad value. Any thoughts? I'll drop some options I'm looking at below.
