Lactulose and cisapride

Has anyone ever had to give their cat lactulose? My cat is on it (the vet says forever) but I really can’t keep cleaning up the messes constantly. I’ve had to bathe her almost everyday and every time I do that and continuously clean up the accidents, it’s time to do it again. I’m stuck in a rock and a hard place because I love her so much, but I feel as though this is too much for her as well as me.
