Advice / Need Corporate Contact
I signed up for CP after I moved to a new city and found out I was pregnant. I figured it was a great way to stay strong throughout pregnancy and meet friends. I loved the classes, the studio and the instructors. Club Pilates was aware of my pregnancy and had great modifications for me. I was attending mostly advanced classes because that was what fit my schedule best. 15 days after I paid for my 8 classes and half way through my second trimester I was told I could not attend advanced classes anymore. That it was a corporate rule. I asked if I could go ahead and cancel for the next month since I wouldn’t be able to attend classes anymore and I would of cancelled in the right amount of time if I had known of the rule. Side note: I checked my agreement that was emailed to me when I signed up and there was nothing about second trimester regulations. I was told I could not be waived for the 30 day rule and my only option to not be charged for the next month was to freeze my account. It was not specified to me how long my account would be frozen just for me to let them know when I was ready to come back. Well I am 12 weeks post partum, still not cleared for exercise, and I got a text saying my account is unfrozen…one day before I have to tell them to cancel my account. I immediately sent an email requesting a cancel because I didn’t want to be charged a second time for 8 classes (we all know that ain’t cheap) and was told I had to either come into the studio or send a certified letter. The date also happened to coincide with a city festival where the streets were basically shut down and the studio was closed for two days. So there was no way for me to even get them a certified letter or to the studio in enough time to cancel before the next payment. When I expressed my frustration and confusion to the studio I was told it was all corporate’s doing and they couldn’t do anything about it. I found a number online for corporate and it took me to a voicemail. I’m not sure how to proceed or if it’s even worth fighting.
Bottom line - if I had been told about the second trimester rules I would have cancelled in enough time to not be charged the cost of not just one 8 class pack but two and I’m hoping someone in corporate can help me.
