Is this game worth getting now for someone who's never played Dragons Dogma?

I bought this game on release but barely played it. Refunded it partially because the preformance was bad on launch even on my 4080 7800x3d rig, and partially because I didn't have the time or the patience at the time to play a big RPG. I have that time now and I'm looking for something new to play. So my questions would be, has the preformance improved at all, and how much time do you think I can get out of the game? Huge fan of fantasy in general and the game is 40% off now so I figured I would think about buying it again. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions.
