Ditching professional development days

I work at a school (not a teacher )and this week is conference week so the kids leave at 12:30 but we are still expected to stay until 230 and do professional development which is literally always the same shit plus a few icebreaker activities which I hate. It’s a total waste of time so I’ve just been leaving when the kids leave and ditching professional development and I don’t feel bad at all. Obviously I don’t want to get in trouble but they don’t pay me enough or treat me well enough to waste my time doing pointless stuff just to fill time. Just a little vent/rant. How do y’all feel about professional development?
