My exfiance left the door open.

Excellent Advice

So i’ve been divorced for 14 years but three years ago fell in love with someone that I taught was my soulmate. She had also gone through a divorce twice and had two kids like me, but hers were adults. We hit it off instantly. I was so impressed with her ambition and achievements being so successful in her work. She had two jobs and a doctor degree. That was very impressive when we got together I was already retired and was living a very simple life. I was very upfront and honest with her from the start. I told her I didn’t have a college degree, that I was retired, and still had children living at home, so didn’t have the freedom to travel when I wanted to. She said she didn’t care, but admired me being such a great father and provider for my children. Everything went great, and we felt madly in love. So the time came that I proposed to her with a beautiful ring. We both cried and she exepted. But right after engagement, I could see she was having second thoughts. After a few months, I noticed her pulling away so we had a talk. She mentioned that she was afraid to get married again after two failed marriages and I told her that we didn’t have to, but it was away for me to combine the two families together. It’s time went by. I noticed her spending less time with me. I started feeling like I wasn’t much of a priority to her. One Sunday she came to my house and I was gonna prepare a meal. I sat her down and said we need to talk. I told her how much I loved her and that spending one day a week was just not enough for me that I needed to spend more time with her. I assumed that this would lead to a compromise that will suit both of us. To my surprise, she ended the relationship and I was completely heartbroken. Fast-forward two years and we decided to meet for coffee. She made small talk at first but after 30 minutes, I said I wanna talk about the break up. She explained her side of the story and even though it hurt, I understood. When we said our goodbyes, I sent her a text saying it was nice seeing you again and I feel better after the conversation. She didn’t reply until many hours later I said it was nice seeing me also and then ended the text with until next time. Now I’m very confused as to why she said that and is she leaving the door open for the future. I appreciate any advice you have.
