Fossify Calendar / Whatsapp

I switched from Google Calendar to Fossify Calendar with Runbox.com as the calendar backend. Now when I add a new contact to Fossify Calendar Whatsapp doesn't recognize it. I have to add it to Whatsapp's internal calendar to get it to work. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
