billing insurance for outdoor/walk & talk therapy

Billing / Finance / Insurance

I've seen a couple posts related to this topic but not much in the way of answers to my question-- I am brand new to private practice, starting out doing only telehealth to minimize overhead but would love to be able to offer in person outdoor/walk & talk sessions locally (I'd love to have an office some day as well but it's not in my current budget). I'm working with Headway to accept insurance. Is it possible to bill insurance for this kind of therapy? I'll definitely include informed consent and a safety waiver. I could (probably should) ask my Headway contact but I have a feeling they'll just say no... I'm thinking I might need to do private pay only for outdoor/walk & talk sessions, but that's kind of a bummer if so... would love to hear if anyone has any related knowledge/experience!
