Is PUBGM worth a return?

I started playing PUBG Mobile in Season 2 on an iPad and had an amazing time with my squad. We were pretty good, and the game felt fun and competitive. But I stopped playing about 1.5 years ago. Back then the competition was really enjoyable with tough lobbies and less bots.

Now, two of my old squadmates are back, and I’m thinking of returning too—just for fun. I’m planning to buy a new iPad, but I want to know before spending money on a new ipad (probably M4) and maybe a loaded account. Is the game still as fun and competitive? Are lobbies still active with real players, or is it more bots now?
