Punirune help

Hello, not sure of this is the right place for this...

My daughter has a punirune and is very upset. She had a character (a yellow and red blob thing), but it has disappeared and been replaced by a white blob thing. This appears to be extremely upsetting to my daughter!

I cannot work out how to switch characters. Is it possible? We can see it in the book thing but can't get it in the "room" to play with.
