Resting to refresh for specific investigations

I'm getting into speedrunning and currently chasing specifically 3* Tempered Arkveld and 5* Tempered Arkveld investigations. Is the best way to refresh the map and scout for these hunts to just spam rest?

Should I be using a specific type/time to rest to and does the region I rest in matter at all?
